Consignment Operation

  • The institutions lacking expertise for proper operation of the medical institution ethics committee or lacking the necessary manpower for operation or having difficulties in providing financial and administrative supports for the medical institution ethics committee may entrust the affairs of the ethics committee to the ethics committee of another medical institution or to the public ethics committee.
  • The Ethics Committee(contractor) or public ethics committee, which is entrusted with affairs of the ethics committee of another medical institution, should discuss specific matters about how it will manage the affairs regarding decision to withdraw or withhold LST and the implementation thereof with the contracting agency and determine before performing the affairs entrusted.

Article 14 of the Act(Establishment, Operation, etc., of Medical Institution Ethics Committee)

⑤ Notwithstanding paragraph (1), a medical institution which has concluded an agreement with the ethics committee of another medical institution or a public ethics committee referred to in paragraph (6) to entrust the affairs prescribed in subparagraphs of paragraph (2), as prescribed by Ordinance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, shall be deemed to have established an ethics committee.
