The medical institution that intends to perform the affairs related to the decision to withdraw or withhold LST and the implementation thereof should organize a committee according to the following. The ethics committee shall be comprised of 5 to 20 members, including one chairperson, and shall not be limited to the persons of the relevant medical institution.

Member

The head of the medical institution shall appoint members with the 2-year term

Chairperson

The chairperson is elected from among the appointed members

Required Number of Personnel

The medical institution ethics committee shall include at least two nonmedical persons recommended by the religious community, legal circle, ethics circle, civic organizations, etc

Supporting Personnel

The head of the medical institution may have an organization in charge or personnel to support the committee if it is deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the medical institution ethics committee
